2012 BMW M5 Concept review

         The new BMW sedan entitled 2012 BMW M5 Concept seemed to gather much attention from car lovers and critics all over the world. This car is going to make its first debut and premiere at the Shanghai auto show this year. As the previous BMW model’s 2012 BMW M5 Concept is primarily stunning for its powerful engine and rear-wheel drive.

2011 BMW Z4 sDrive35is review

      The BMW Z4 sDrive35is offers outstanding power and performance without an increase in fuel consumption or emissions. Its figures are expected to match those of the BMW Z4 sDrive35i with Double-Clutch Transmission on the EPA test cycle. This balance of performance and fuel efficiency results from the fundamental design and layout of the BMW inline-6, which combines twin turbochargers with High Precision direct injection. 

        The new Z4 sDrive35is is faster and better than any other model in the Z4 line up: powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0 liters inline six with increased air flow and more boost pressure. The result is an output of 335 HP at 5,900 RPM and a peak torque of 332 lb-ft from 1,500 RPM to 4,500 RPM. The sprint from 0 to 60 MPH is made in just 4.7 seconds, while the car’s top speed is limited to 155 MPH.

        The Z4 sDrive35is gets unique, sporty programming for its electric power steering system. We’ve derided this system in the standard car, calling it vague and lacking in feedback. Hopefully the new programming will bring back some of the feel as claimed. Driving Dynamics Control, included on other Z4 models, allows the driver to adjust between normal, Sport, and Sport settings for shift speed, throttle sensitivity, and the adaptive M suspension, which also comes standard on the sDrive35is.

BMW M3 review

        That's a lightweight V8 under the bonnet that weighs less than the previous straight six and it produces 414bhp and 295lb ft of torque. That's enough to launch the coupe to 62mph in just 4.8 seconds and on to a limited 155mph. The saloon is slightly slower but you won't be able to tell.

BMW 5-series review

           The BMW 5 Series Sedan is pure aesthetics, combined with highly agile vehicle dynamics and unsurpassed comfort. Our engineers combine time-tested BMW concepts, such as the driver-facing centre console with state-of-the-art technology in the Dynamic Damper Control and the Head-Up Display, which brings important information directly into the driver’s view on the front windscreen.

           Strange that BMW has since launched a weird hatchback/saloon hybrid called the GT, because the market has already voted with its wallets. Since 1972 and through five generations, more than 5.5 million examples of the 5-series have been built. Along with the Mercedes-Benz E-class, the 5-series epitomises the big German saloon. It is also responsible for more than 50 per cent of BMW's annual profits.

          The BMW5 have two engines will be offered at the launch in March, both twin-cam, straight-six all-aluminium units, burning diesel or petrol and priced at £37,100 and £37,090 respectively in SE trim. Smaller capacity, four-cylinder engines will follow, including the most popular derivative, the £28,165 520d SE. Natürlich this new 5-series arrives with what was described as a "cavalcade of technology" including self parking, a stop-start system for the 520d, eight-speed automatic transmission, active steering, intelligent alternator charging, a head-up information display and iDrive, BMW's single control selector capable of rendering drivers speechless with bewilderment. 

2008 BMW 135i review

           The 135i is briskly motivated by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine that produces 300 horsepower and an incredible 300 lb-ft of torque from as low as 1,400 rpm. With its direct piezo gasoline injectors, twin low-mass turbochargers and air-to-air intercooling, optimum performance and economy is achieved with no loss in engine response. For the 135i Coupe, acceleration from 0-62 mph is 5.3 seconds and top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph.

            The 135i displays phenomenal pickup in both second and third gears. The low-pressure turbo chargers assist the 3-liter engine in catapulting the car forward with a surprising lack of lag, and from 2,000rpm and higher, the acceleration is instant and linear. After a tap of the brakes, we turned into turn 3: the 135i tracks superbly in cornering at around 30 mph, and after brushing the apex we buried the gas pedal for the straightaway to turn 4. This stretch gave us another chance to experience the 135i's whirlwind acceleration, and we found ourselves approaching 80 mph before having to track left, touch the brakes and aim for the right-hand apex. We took turn 4 about 60 mph, tracking from left to right on the way through. The 135i's sports suspension can be unforgivingly harsh on the road, but for high-speed cornering it works extremely well, delivering a firm, sure-footed line.
