Ferrari FXX Evolution review

          The innovative FXX program, based on the eponymous prototype car and launched by Ferrari in June 2005, was completed in the 2008 which is the most advanced GT ever created at Maranello, has been updated for the last season with an evolution package aimed at further improving its handling and performance. The package was developed as a result of Ferrari's collaboration with its Client Test Drivers and with the invaluable support of Michael Schumacher.

         Maranello's engineers studied the wealth of information gained to develop a kit which will cut the FXX's Fiorano lap time to under 1,16 inches. The FXX's 6262 cc V12 engine can now punch out a massive 860 bhp at 9500 rpm. Gearshifting takes just 60 ms, a drop of 20 ms on the previous time, and the gear ratios have been adapted to make use of the extra 1000 rpm now delivered by the engine.

            The Ferrari FXX is not homologated for road use and there are no plans to compete with it either. In fact, the Ferrari FXX prototype is designed exclusively for track driving as part of a specific R&D programme agreed with a selected group of just over 20 clients involving 14 group test sessions and 14 private ones in the last two years.

Ferrari FF review

          This all new, aluminium space frame car has a front/mid mounted 6.3 litres, 65 degrees V12, with direct fuel injection into the cylinders delivering 651bhp and 504lb ft of torque. For the most part this is a conventional supercar driveline with the seven speed, twin clutch gearbox mounted into a rear transaxle with the electronically controlled differential.

         Power of Ferrari FF is something that has always been a highlight. The hood of the FF conceals a 6,262 cc direct injection V12 engine, which generates humongous power of 660 HP @8,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 503 lbs-ft @6,000 rpm. Such impressive power of the 2012 Ferrari FF is capable of taking the FF from 0 to 60 in 3.7 seconds and will be having a top speed of 208 mph.

          With 16 feet, 1.1 inches in length, and 6 feet 5 inches wide, the FF is a slightly bigger car than its 612 predecessor. It feels big as you climb behind the wheel, with the hood stretching to infinity. The cabin is gorgeous, trimmed in soft aniline leather, with a fascia that wraps around the passengers. There's room in back for two 6-foot adults for medium length journeys and, under the hatch, the trunk will swallow four overhead airline suitcases.

Ferrari 599XX Prototype review

        The 599XX is officially labeled a prototype, but industry rumors have pointed toward the new razor-sharp Ferrari track car seeing a very limited production run to "loyal Ferrari customers" or some such thing. While the engine and transmission are the same basic units found in the 599 GTB, Ferrari has raised the redline all the way up to 9000 rpm, with some new internals allowing a power increase to a cold 700 horses.

       The Ferrari 599XX is characterised by an innovative electronic concept called the  “High Performance Dynamic Concept” which has been designed to get the maximum performance from the car by managing the combination of the car’s mechanical limits with the potential of its electronic controls. The mechanical and electronic systems work together to get the maximum performance from the car under extreme high performance driving, for consistent lap times.

           Carbon fiber is used extensively in the 599XX, even underhood, where carbon intakes and other bits save weight and add a little visual flair. The F1 style transmission also gets a reprogramming, with shift times now coming in a miniscule 60 ms, far quicker than even the most skilled clutch and lever operator.

Ferrari 458 Italia review

           The Ferrari 458 Italia’s Pininfarina design provides further evidence of the complete departure from the past that this new car hails. The Ferrari 458 Italia has a compact, aerodynamic shape, underscoring the concepts of simplicity, efficiency and lightness that inspired the project. The front features a single opening for the front grille and side air intakes, with aerodynamic sections and profiles designed to direct air to the coolant radiators and the new flat underbody.

            Ferrari 458 Italia will succeed the famed F430, and is completely new according to the company. The numeric part of the name is derived from the engine displacement (4.5 liters) and number of cylinders (eight), while the Italia name was chosen because Ferrari feels the car exemplifies the flair and passion of its homeland.

           The engineers also focused on weight reduction during the design phase for similar reasons. Weight distribution is also optimal with 58 per cent over the rear axle. The result of the engineers’ endeavours can be summed up in to two simple statistics which together perfectly encapsulate the Ferrari 458 Italia’s exceptional performance: 0-100 km/h acceleration in under 3.4 seconds and a maximum speed in excess of 325 km/h.

Ferrari F430 Scuderia Review

The Ferrari F430 Scuderia review indicates that the car comes with a 4.3 litre V8 engine and this can deliver power of 470 bhp at 8500 rpm along with peak torque of 450 Nm at 5250 rpm. The length of the car is 4512mm and its width is 1923mm while its height is 1214mm. The car can seat 2 individuals comfortably.

The result is the 430 Scuderia, a car that looks like an F430 and goes like an Enzo. You may recall that the Enzo was Ferrari's masterwork just a few years back, a V12 powered showcase of everything Ferrari knew about building road cars. The Enzo would get around the company's Fiorano test track in 1 minute and 25 seconds, currently the record for a street legal machine. The F430, for all its considerable wiles, does the Fiorano deed in 1 minute and 27 seconds respectfully behind the big dog. But the 430 Scuderia reclaims those two seconds for the V8 berlinetta camp, going wheel-to-wheel with Ferrari's all-time hero car. That's insane. 

The Ferrari F430 Scuderia is the ultimate racing car that can be owned by speed fanatics. The excellent performance of the car can be gauged from the fact that the car can achieve record timing on racing tracks. This car will be available in the automobile market in India from 2010 through Fiat. The car delivers powerful performance and is the perfect choice for a speed freak.

2011 Ferrari 599 GTO

           The 599 GTO is reserved for just 599 clients who seek the maximum expression of high-performance driving. The 599 GTO benefits directly from the technological transfer from racing and set a record lap time at Fiorano in 1’24”. 

           The 599 GTO’s engine is directly derived from the 599XX unit implementing, however, the necessary modifications for road-going homologation. It thus complies with Euro 5 and LEV 2 standards. The 5999 cc 65-degree V12 engine punches out 670 CV at 8250 rpm with maximum torque of 620 Nm at 6500 rpm and there is a smooth, constant rush of power all the way to the redline with no loss of flexibility even at medium and low revs. This result was obtained by working on the fluid-dynamics and components to reduce internal friction and by adopting, amongst other things, the 599XX’s redesigned crankshaft. The car also has a racing-type intake system with a new manifold with diffuser-type intake geometry and short inlet tracts designed to improve power delivery at high revs and reduce losses. 

           The 599 GTO inherits much of the development work - using the same principles as employed in F1 - that went into making the 599XX such an extreme performance car. Reducing weight was a vital objective and the result was the widespread use of composites and components manufactured with technologies more akin to racing specifications. The areas involved include the bodywork and greenhouse (with thinner gauge aluminium and thinner glass), the brakes, transmission and exhaust system. The result is a dry weight of 1495 kg and a weight-to-power ratio of just 2.23 kg/hp, a very significant figure that underlines the GTO's performance potential.

Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano

            The 599 GTB Fiorano (internal code F141) is an Italian gran turismo produced by Ferari . It is the brand's two-seat flagship, replacing the 575 M Maranello in 2006 as a 2007 Model. The Tipo F140C 6.0 L (5999 cc) V12 engine  produces a maximum 620 PS  (456 kW ; 612 hp), making it the most powerful series production Ferrari road car. Its 608 N·m (448 ft·lbf) of torque will also be a high for Ferrari's GT cars. Most of the modifications to the engine were done to allow it to fit in the Fiorano's engine bay (the original Enzo version could be taller as it would not block forward vision due to its mid-mounted position). The company claims a top speed in excess of 330 km/h (205 mph), 0–100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.7 seconds, and 11.0 seconds to 200 km/h (124 mph).

            The Ferrari 599 GTB was designed with several specific objectives in mind: to surpass the intense driving pleasure of such renowned models as the F40, to guarantee stunning performance courtesy of its highly innovative content and technology transfers from the F1 single-seaters, and to deliver superior standards of roominess, comfort, ergonomics and safety. The result is the absolute pinnacle of achievement in terms of thoroughbred Ferrari sportiness and technology.

Ferrari Enzo review

           It is fitting that on the day we arrived in Italy to drive the latest offering from Ferrari, Michael Schumacher took the checkered flag in the French Grand Prix at Magny Cours, bringing Ferrari's star driver his fifth FIA Formula One Drivers' World Championship and moving Ferrari closer to a fourth consecutive constructors' title. Racing is, after all, the foundation upon which the temple of Ferrari is built. To own a Ferrari is to bask in some of the reflected glory of the company's racing heritage. In recent times, the Ferrari road cars that can most legitimately claim some of that glory for themselves are the "special series" cars, uncompromising sports cars utilizing the most advanced technology for ultimate performance.

         The Ferrarri Enzo features a V12 engine with four valves per cylinder. The engine displacement is about 4700 cc and it delivers an output power of 660 bhp and 485 lb-ft torque. The Ferrari Enzo reaches the speed of 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and the top speed is about 217 mph. The Ferrari Enzo features 6-speed Semi-Automatic transmission and the gear shifts can be performed easily and smoothly even at higher loads.
